Amy Green has joined Inside Climate News as a reporter covering climate and the environment in Florida, adding an important new dimension of reporting to the Pulitzer Prize-winning nonprofit’s Southeast network.
Green joins Inside Climate News from WMFE in Orlando, where she covered the environment for more than a decade. Green is also the creator of Drained, a podcast about the massive plan to save the Everglades, and the author of “Moving Water: The Everglades and Big Sugar,” published by Johns Hopkins University Press. Green’s work has been heard on NPR, and seen in PEOPLE, Newsweek, The New York Times, Inside Climate News and The Christian Science Monitor; she was the recipient of the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award and Public Media Journalists Association award. She began her career at The Associated Press in Nashville, Tenn. Green grew up in Florida and lives in Orlando.
In her new role, Green will continue to partner with WMFE, as well as other news outlets throughout the state and region, strengthening ICN’s Southeast reporting network, which Kentucky-based reporter James Bruggers launched five years ago. The Southeast network now includes more than a dozen publishing partners throughout the region, including nonprofit newsrooms, public radio and legacy news organizations, and has convened workshops in environment and climate reporting for dozens of local journalists across the region.
Green is the sixth reporter that ICN has added to its local reporting staff in the last nine months, broadening its scope and capacity to partner with outlets in new geographies.

Last June, Aman Azhar joined as a reporter covering environmental justice with a focus on Baltimore and Maryland. He has previously worked as a broadcast journalist and multimedia producer for the BBC World Service, VOA News and other international news organizations, reporting from London, Islamabad, the United Arab Emirates and New York.
In August 2022, Houston native Dylan Baddour opened ICN’s Texas bureau in Austin, where he covers the energy sector and environmental justice. He’s reported for the Houston Chronicle, covered the U.S.-Mexico border for international outlets and reported for several years from Colombia for The Washington Post, BBC News and The Atlantic, among others. ICN works in collaboration with the Texas Tribune to distribute news throughout the state.
Reporter Martha Pskowski, who covers climate change and the environment in Texas from her base in El Paso, joined Inside Climate News in January 2023. She was previously an environmental reporter at the El Paso Times. She began her career as a freelance journalist in Mexico, reporting for outlets including The Guardian and Yale E360.

Also in January, Aydali Campa joined ICN’s Midwest network, covering environmental justice throughout the region from Chicago. Campa has covered education, Covid-19 and transborder issues. Her previous work can be seen in The Wall Street Journal, The Arizona Republic and Arizona PBS. Campa joins Dan Gearino, ICN’s clean energy reporter, who is based in Columbus, Ohio and launched the Midwestern network five years ago.
Wyatt Myskow, who was hired by ICN in January, is a Roy Howard Fellow and Mountain West correspondent based in Phoenix, where he covers water issues, how communities adapt to climate change, efforts to find new sources of energy, how public lands are managed by the federal government and the impact of growth in the region. Myskow has previously reported for The Arizona Republic, The Chronicle of Higher Education and The State Press, covering local government, development news, education issues and the COVID-19 pandemic.
